Rjukan baby.

We are finally here and today's ice didn't disappoint, we headed down to krokan for our first venue to get back in to the swing of things. Krokan is a great place to go here as it pretty much caters to everyone, whether its the first time you've picked up an ice axe or whether you're a seasoned pro, there's something for everyone and this year the ice was fatter than ever.

As we arrived into the main krokan riverbed we couldn't help to notice how much bigger everything was than the last time we were here, routes that were large last time we were here, were even bigger and merging with the adjacent routes.
Some of the routes in the guide book didn't even look like the ice we had in front of us as they had morphed in to different climbs altogether with the additional ice.

We did four routes through the day and each one was incredible as the quality of ice was second to none. The routes we did today were all around the WI4 grade.
As there were so many great lines at krokan and routes which don't normally form as well, we have decided to go back tomorrow to fully conquer krokan.
